3D Printing
What is 3D printing, exactly?
We use FDM (fused deposition modeling). Our printers melt a plastic filament and lay it down in 0.2mm-tall layers, one at a time, until your object exists in real life. A small keychain is roughly 110 layers of controlled extrusion; a hand-sized desk piece is closer to 500.
Think of it like a very precise hot-glue gun that builds an object up one thin layer at a time.
What materials do you print with?
Most of what we make prints in matte PLA — it's rigid, holds fine detail, and comes in the widest range of colors. For parts that need extra strength we use PLA+, and we can run PETG for items that need to handle a little more heat or flex. Got a specialty material in mind? Just ask.
We mostly run Polymaker filament and keep our spools in dry storage so moisture doesn't affect print quality.
How big can you print?
Our Bambu P2S build plates are 256 × 256 × 256 mm — about 10 inches on each side, which covers the large majority of what we make. Larger pieces are still possible: we split the model at natural seams, print the parts, and assemble them. If you've got a bigger project in mind, send us the details and we'll let you know what's realistic.
How strong are 3D printed parts?
Way stronger than you'd guess. Most of our keychains and fidgets print with 4 solid perimeters and 25% gyroid infill, which makes them genuinely hard to break by hand. They survive being dropped on concrete, thrown across a desk, and jangled in a pocket with keys.
What FDM parts don't love: long-term direct sunlight and cars in July. See Care & Maintenance.
Can you do multi-color prints?
Yes — our printers use an AMS (automatic material system) that swaps filament mid-print, so multi-color is no problem. Most of our designs are 2–4 colors and ship exactly as you see them on the product page. Fully custom color work is available through the custom order flow.
Are the prints waterproof?
Water-resistant, not waterproof. Splashes, rain, sweat — no problem. Submersion or anything under pressure (dishwasher jets, garden hoses) will eventually find its way through the micro-gaps between layers. PETG tolerates water better than PLA if that's a constant need — ask us for a switch.
Orders & Shipping
How fast do orders ship?
Everything in the shop is printed-to-order. Most orders leave our farm within 24–48 hours. Larger or multi-color orders may add a day. You'll get a tracking email the moment the package hits USPS.
Where do you ship?
All 50 US states via USPS. We don't ship internationally just yet. Shipping is free on orders over $25 — under that, checkout calculates the live rate by weight so you see the real cost before paying.
How do I track my order?
Once your package is handed off to USPS you'll get a tracking link by email. If something feels off or a delivery is late, reply to that email — we'll look into it the same day.
What if my package is lost or arrives damaged?
We'll make it right. Send a photo of the damage (or a screenshot of the "delivered but not here" tracking) and we'll get a replacement printed and back out to you, usually within a day.
Do you offer expedited shipping?
For custom orders we can ship Priority Mail to get it to you faster — just let us know when we're working out your quote. In-stock items already ship within a day or two, so they tend to arrive quickly either way.
Pricing & Payment
How is pricing determined?
Stocked items are flat-priced on the product page. For custom orders, pricing reflects print time (minutes on the printer), filament used (grams per print), any hardware like split rings or magnets, and hands-on finishing work. A 30-minute keychain is cheaper than a 5-hour desk piece — no magic.
What payment methods do you accept?
All major cards, plus Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Shop Pay through our Shopify checkout. For larger custom projects, reach out and we'll work out the best way to handle payment.
Do you offer discounts or bulk pricing?
Yes — the more of one item you order, the lower the per-unit price. For bigger or bulk orders, email us with the item and quantity and we'll put together pricing and a timeline that works.
Do you charge sales tax?
Sales tax is added for orders shipping to Ohio (where we're based). Orders to other states show no tax at checkout — but whether you owe use-tax at home is between you and your state, not us.
Is there a minimum order?
No minimum — a single keychain is totally fine, and there's no minimum on custom orders either. Shipping is free on regular orders over $25; for custom orders, shipping is sorted out as part of your quote.
Care & Maintenance
How do I clean a 3D printed item?
Warm water and mild dish soap with a soft cloth. A soft-bristle toothbrush works great for getting between layer lines or into textured surfaces. Avoid acetone and strong solvents — PLA tolerates them poorly.
Are the prints dishwasher safe?
No. Dishwasher heat will warp PLA and the spray pressure finds its way between the layers. Hand-wash only.
Can they sit in a hot car?
Short answer: no. PLA starts softening around 140°F (60°C), which a parked car in summer can hit by lunchtime. If you need a part that lives in your car, ask for it in PETG — that's good up to roughly 180°F (80°C).
Are they kid- and pet-safe?
Our filaments are non-toxic, but any rigid plastic object with small features is a choking hazard — use common sense with young kids or chewers. Nothing we make is designed for mouth contact or food service.
What if something breaks?
We back our work with a 30-day money-back guarantee — if something breaks under normal use, or you're just not happy, email us within 30 days and we'll replace it or refund you. The exception is custom and one-of-a-kind pieces, since those are made specifically for you. We keep your file on hand, so reprints are quick.
Custom Orders
How do I start a custom order?
Send us the details — describe what you want, add any reference images, and share your rough timeline. We'll send a quote within 24 hours with a price and a delivery date.
What file formats do you accept?
STL, STEP, OBJ, and 3MF all work. If all you have is a phone photo or a pencil sketch, send that too — we design from reference all the time.
How long do custom orders take?
Most wrap in under a week end-to-end: a day or two to design, 24 hours for you to approve the render, then 2–3 days for print and ship. Rush turnaround (48 hours total) is available for a fee.
Can you help me design something?
Definitely. Most of our custom orders start with a sketch or a paragraph. We model it up in Fusion, send you a render, iterate until you love it, then print. Design time is included in your quote unless scope changes dramatically.
Do you keep my files afterward?
Your design is yours. We keep a working copy on file so reorders and reprints are fast, but we'll never list your design in the public shop without asking first. If you'd rather we delete the file after delivery, just say so.
We haven't answered that one yet.
